Hurst Show and Country Fayre
Hurst Show and Country Fayre is a unique annual event held in the centre of Hurst, Berkshire,
during two full days in June.
Established more than 30 years ago,
the 2014 show is over the weekend of June 28th and 29th.
Last year's show was a bumper one for numbers of visitors, who said it was the best show yet.
They liked the friendly and rural, non-commercial atmosphere.
Families enjoyed taking part themselves, doing tugs of war, pottery,
hobby horse racing, holding birds of prey, splatting dads and stroking farm animals.
See what they told us.
It is a true village show that takes its support
from all members of the local community
and gives back generous support to those
within the village and the local community.
The 2014 show promises an abundance of fun packed attractions
which will appeal to young and old.
There will be a packed programme of
tug of war,
and a myriad of other attractions
whilst the colourful cacophony of side stalls,
face painting, bouncy castle,
bar and refreshments
will ensure that there will be wall to wall entertainment for all the family.
The organisers are planning a spectacular weekend
so do come along on both days to ensure you don't miss any of the fun!
Over the years the Show has raised many thousands of pounds,
mainly for local charities.
St Nicholas Primary School has always been the principal beneficiary
receiving around half the proceeds.
The show is also a stalwart supporter of the local scout and guide movements,
the Wokingham Red Diamonds Sports for the disabled,
St Nicholas Pre-School,
Hurst Village Halls
and St Nicholas Church restoration fund.
Each year proceeds from the show are distributed amongst local and many other

Non-competitive horse displays and demonstrations, including the Hurst Riders Club musical ride,
will continue to be big attractions at the 2014 Hurst Show and Country Fair.
Horse and pony competition classes are transferring to a new event, run by
Hurst Riders Club,
at a new venue.
It is hoped the new event, the Hurst Riders Horse Show,
will take place the weekend after the usual show, subject to securing a suitable venue.
Details of the Hurst Riders Horse Show will appear on their
